RE: Where to go in Texas for winter months?

We like the Hill Country and stay at Buckhorn Lake Resort. The area is beautiful and the people friendly. Close enough to San Antonio for shopping, etc.

RE: Tax season?

We send our information to the tax preparer in CO that we have used for many, many years. When she gets it done she mails it back. No problems.

Good road, shouldn't have any problems. Just lots of trucks!

RE: banking ????? for fulltimers

We stayed at the credit union we had used for several years before full timing, have had no problems. Usually get cash at Wal-Mart when getting groceries.

Fulltimers insurance for Texas residents

We presently have GMAC insurance on the coach and toad. However, we plan on becoming Texans by the end of September, therefore will have to switch companies. What insurance company do other fulltiming Texas residents use?
TIA

RE: Fall/Winter Workamping Jobs - Where are you working?

We'll be back at Buckhorn Lake RV Resort near Kerrville, TX, for our third winter. We love the park and the people are friendly.

RE: Fountain / Colorado Springs KOA

We stayed there last summer while getting some repairs done to the MH at the Camping World just up the road. Very convenient, friendly staff, just a little road noise from I-25.

RE: Towing a used book store

Most RV parks have a book exchange, some rather extensive. In over 3 years of fulltiming I have yet to buy a book and I'm an avid reader.

I believe you can ride the trolley into town from Wanderlust RV Park.

RE: Big Rigs

We purchased the "Big Rigs Best Bets" book and find it very helpful. Their website is www.big-rigs-rv.com
Lists RV parks/campground by state that are "big rig" friendly.

We stayed at South Fork RV Park on the east end of town. Nice people and we had a river view site, oh so nice!

RE: who workcamps in the winter and takes the summers off

We work both seasons, but some of the time we schedule it so we have some time between positions that we can travel and relax. Works for us.

RE: Trailer Life or Motor Home?

We started out in a 5th wheel and subscribed to Trailer Life. When we purchased the MH I contacted them and switched our remaining subscription time to Motorhome. As stated above several articles crossover and some apply to both types of RVs.
Love it.

RE: RCA television in my 2007 Fleetwood Bounder

You're not alone. Bought our 2007 Southwind in October of 2006 and the RCA TV up front quit working in May 2008. Replaced with a Philips. They don't make'em like they used to.

I second La Hacienda. Definitely "big rig" friendly. Their building 190 new sites.
